Little White Dress

Happy Friday! This is my first blog post in over 5 months! Life has been pretty crazy, but I’m hoping to get back into regular blogging soon.

I’ve recently started to incorporate more white into my wardrobe.  I’ve been nervous to wear white in the past because I worried it wouldn’t flatter my fair skin, but I’ve decided to give it a try.  I think this dress has calmed my worries!

The gorgeous details of this Forever 21 dress were too good to resist.  I’m so glad I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone!  Have an amazing weekend 🙂

Autumn Manicure – Essie’s Partner in Crime

IMG_3896I am a huge fan of dark nail polish.  Burgundy, navy blue, and charcoal are my go-to shades, but I felt like switching things up this fall with a deep chocolate brown.IMG_3931I’ve been meaning to try out Essie nail polish for a long time and finally picked up this shade called Partner in Crime.  I think it’s safe to say that Essie is my new favorite brand!  This polish went on so smooth and looks amazing.  The almost-black color is perfect for fall and is a bit less harsh than a pure black.  I’ll definitely be buying more colors soon!

Beautiful Scotland

IMG_3157My first trip to Europe in 2013 has been one of the best experiences of my life so far.  I had dreamed of going to Scotland for a long time because it is the birthplace of my ancestors.  I spent most of my time in Edinburgh and enjoyed every minute.  This city is incredibly beautiful and full of history.IMG_3136This is the view from my apartment which was just down the street from Edinburgh Castle.  I don’t think I could have found a better location!  Cute little stores and restaurants were right outside my doorstep and a ten minute walk put me in the center of Princes Street, a popular shopping street complete with some of my favorite stores  – H&M and Topshop.IMG_3147IMG_3457If you ever find yourself in the gorgeous city of Edinburgh, be sure to check out these locations:

Black, White, & Sparkle

IMG_6417Get ready for another blazer post!  I found this baby at Marshalls a few days ago and I couldn’t resist it.  The slim fit and lack of a collar makes this my ideal blazer.  The material is super comfortable and I can’t help but feel put together when I wear it.IMG_6411I wanted this look to be very casual, so I paired my blazer with black skinnies, sneakers, and a white t-shirt with a bit of sparkle.  Enjoy your weekend!IMG_6400IMG_6396Blazer (Rachel Roy – Marshalls), T-shirt (Zara), Jeans (Hollister Co.), Sneakers (Ardene).

White Lace and Camel Boots

IMG_6350Happy Friday!  It’s the end of September but it feels like summer.  I had originally planned this outfit to include a coat but today was too hot!IMG_6349This lace dress is a great addition to my wardrobe because it’s simple yet unique.  I love the high neckline and lace detail.  I’m sure I’ll be wearing it a lot this fall.IMG_6337Dress (Vero Moda – similar to this and this), Boots (Old Navy).

Burgundy and Lace

IMG_6230I’ve been searching for the perfect lace top for a while now and I finally found it this past weekend!  I don’t really like lace tops without lining because I can’t be bothered to find another top to go underneath, so I was very happy to find this lined beauty!IMG_6225I love the look of black lace and burgundy.  I’m planning on having a girl’s night out sometime this weekend and this will be my go-to outfit.IMG_6210IMG_6224Top (Forever 21), Skirt (Brandy Melville), Boots (Modcloth), Sunglasses (gift), Necklace (gift), Earrings (Claire’s).

Casual Friday

IMG_6152TGIF!  It has been a crazy week and I can’t wait to get the long weekend started.  I plan on doing some traveling, eating out, and shopping for fall clothes.  Hopefully I’ll pick up another blazer similar to this one! I love blazers for fall.IMG_6166Heading back to university makes me want to dress up but also be comfortable during long lectures.  This look is the perfect combination of casual and dressy.IMG_6122Blazer (Aritzia), Top (Zara), Jeans (JustUSA), Shoes (Aldo), Rings (H&M), Earrings (Hillberg & Berk).

Faux Suede

IMG_6081I hope you’re all enjoying the last days of summer!  This is a great summer-to-fall transition outfit with just the right amount of sparkle.IMG_6079I’m slightly obsessed with this cinnamon color for fall.  This top was such a great find and it is so soft! It will definitely become a staple in my wardrobe.IMG_6073Top (Monteau – Marshalls), Jeans (JustUSA), Shoes (Dune London), Necklace & Bracelet (Ardene).

Summer Blues

IMG_6059Happy Wednesday! The weather has been so hot lately that I’m reminded of the sweltering days I spent at the beach in Italy a few weeks ago. This look (featuring a dress I bought on my holiday) is perfect for the hot days of late summer.IMG_6057Despite spending a bit too much money in Italy, I couldn’t resist picking up this panama hat a couple days ago.  I’ve been searching for the perfect one for months!IMG_6052IMG_6042IMG_6053Dress (Mango), Hat (David & Young – Marshalls), Boots (Le Chateau), Bracelet (Ardene), Rings (H&M), Necklace (locally made).

Exploring Italy

IMG_0669After an exhausting 18 hours of traveling, waking up to this view in southern Italy was an instant cure for my jet lag.  The tiny village I would call home for the next week was waiting for me to explore its charming restaurants, beautiful churches, and winding cobblestone streets.  This was the perfect place to relax before taking on some of Italy’s most famous attractions.IMG_5831Visiting the ancient ruins of Pompeii was definitely a highlight of the trip.  Exploring the city and seeing the remains of the people who lived there thousands of years ago was something I never thought I would get to experience.IMG_0763
Spending the day at Salerno beach was probably my favorite part of the trip.  While this beach was a bit rockier than other locations on the Amalfi Coast, it was the perfect place to lay in the sun and cool off in the waves.IMG_5962Walking up the street to the Colosseum in Rome was an incredible experience.  This ancient building has so much history and is absolutely stunning.  The way it is lit up at night makes it even more beautiful.

This was my first trip to Italy and it will not be my last.  This beautiful country has so much to see and do and I barely scraped the surface.  I can’t wait to go back.
